# nsx update

Re-resolve every (or selected) module constraint to its current upstream tip, rewrite nsx.lock, and re-vendor changed modules. Equivalent to `nsx lock --update [--module ...] && nsx sync`.

## Usage

```text
nsx update [-h] [--app-dir APP_DIR] [--module MODULES] [--yes]
                  [--timeout SECONDS]
```

## Options

| Option | Value | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| --app-dir APP_DIR | value | . | App directory containing nsx.yml |
| --module MODULE | repeatable | optional | Only update the named module (may be repeated) |
| --yes | flag | optional | Confirm large updates non-interactively. Required when 3+ modules will move and stdin is not a tty. |
| --timeout SECONDS | value | optional | Wall-clock budget per subprocess (seconds). Kills the whole process group on timeout. |

`-v/--verbose`, `-q/--quiet` are parsed by `nsx` itself, so they go before the command name, as `nsx -v update`.
